Gentle handling and a secure display help protect the details that make each figurine special.
Handle with care
Use clean, dry hands and support the body and base with both hands. Never lift a figurine by an umbrella, arm, flower, or other projecting detail. Move one piece at a time over a clear surface.
Dust gently
For a sound, stable surface, remove loose dust with a clean, soft-bristled brush. Work gently around delicate details. Avoid rubbing fragile surfaces or snagging them with a cloth.
Be cautious with water
Do not soak a figurine or put it in a dishwasher. Cracks, unglazed areas, repairs, and fragile decoration can make wet cleaning unsuitable. Avoid abrasive cleaners and household solvents. If dusting is not enough, seek advice before attempting deeper cleaning.
Display and store securely
Use stable shelving and leave space between pieces. Keep figurines away from shelf edges and busy areas where they can be knocked over. For storage, separate pieces with suitable cushioning and protect projecting details.
If a piece breaks
Save the fragments and consult a qualified ceramics conservator before using glue or attempting a repair.
